Preparing for Dress Shopping: The Campbell Events Essential Checklist

Below is our essential Dress Shopping checklist. If your event is one year to 9 months away it is time to get started dress shopping. Use this checklist to begin preparations and research.

• Research and Inspiration:

  • Gather images of styles you love.
  • Consider fabrics, silhouettes, and designers.

• Set a Budget:

  • Determine your maximum spend.
  • Include alterations and accessories in your budget.

• Book Appointments:

  • Schedule visits to bridal boutiques.
  • Allow ample time for each appointment.

• Know Your Venue:

  • Consider the setting and theme of your wedding.
  • Choose styles that complement the venue.

• Bring the Right Undergarments:

  • Wear or bring a strapless bra and seamless underwear.
  • Consider shapewear if you plan to use it. Our tip is to have it with you but only use it if it is 100% necessary. Most dresses will have it built in.

• Choose Your Entourage Wisely:

  • Limit to a few trusted friends or family members ( over 3 is too many)
  • Ensure they understand your style and preferences. No bad or negative energy here.

• Stay Open-Minded:

  • Be willing to try different styles.
  • Trust the expertise of your consultant.

• Plan for Accessories:

  • Think about veils, jewelry, and shoes.
  • Consider how they will complement your dress.
  • If you have any memorabilia that you want to wear at your wedding, bring it with you! You can see how it looks with the dress.
