The Foundry Wedding Venue is a Long Island City Gem
Tucked on a quiet block in Long Island City, NY, it’s a restored 19th-century metal foundry with exposed brick, iron beams, and a mix of indoor and outdoor spaces that guests can move between throughout the night. The Foundry has a fabulous view of the Queensboro bridge and Ivy that is practically a character of it’s own (check out the Ivy Tracker throughout the year on the Foundry’s instagram!)
The Albra Room
Our favorite weddings here start in the Albra Room. Which is the perfect place to be greeted by bubbles, lemonade, cider, or whatever your heart fancies. Another option is to arrive into the courtyard, which honestly feels like a hidden garden.
The Du Val Suite
The Courtyard at the Foundry has just enough separation from the street to make it feel private without being removed from the city. It’s an easy place to hold a ceremony and has a fabulous getting ready suite on property, The Du Val Suite.
From there, the night moves into cocktail hour. My Favorite Cocktail Hours there are in the greenhouse with a cozy lounge and a fireplace.
Cocktail hour can spread throughout the space, with guests drifting between indoors and outdoors. The Foundry is great for having a flow of spaces. Dinner can take place inside of the inside hall and is the perfect fit for long tables, and candlelight centerpieces. The brick and steel do a lot of the heavy lifting, so you don’t need to have a centerpiece on every table, but the space lends itself well to a statement piece. With some small table lamps you can feel like your in a private club. The other option for Dinner is to have the Courtyard tented, which works well for larger groups and means you can get creative with tent designs.
The Courtyard
As the night moves on, your guests can shift to a small fire pit out back or to the Dance floor in the main hall. The versatility of the space means that each room completely transforms at night. After your wedding is over, you can after party in the Billiards room with a private speak easy, meaning your guests never actually have to leave the property. Not even for the After Party!
That’s really the strength of The Foundry. It can be a fun adventure for your guests and add an element of surprise throughout your evening while searching the different spaces. For couples who want a space with character and historic charm it’s hard to beat.
