The Bordone Wedding Venue is a Blank Canvas for Activities
If you’re looking for a blank space, incredible light, and a stunning Skyline View, The Bordone is the Place to be. Located in Long Island City, NY, this modern loft-style venue sits high above the street, with floor-to-ceiling windows that frame the best views of the Manhattan skyline. It is one of our favorite venues because it gives a true Blank Canvas to do what we love doing, designing a wedding from the ground up.
The Layout
One of Bordone’s biggest strengths is how easy it is to truly make a seamless guest experience. Guests typically arrive on the main floor for the ceremony on the Terrace. Out here you can showcase New York to it’s fullest because the city is the backdrop. As the sun sets, the light shifts over the city in real time, which makes the entire experience feel dynamic without needing to do a lot.
Cocktail hour flows onto the top floor. The fifth floor has a balcony as well and a smaller, intimate feel. It provides open air options as well as fun lounge furniture to allow your guests to spread out.
Dinner and dancing transition seamlessly back to the primary floor. The open layout allows for versatility in how you design the floor plan and you can build a strong dance floor presence. There are so many clear sight lines throughout the room, so that the dance floor truly is the centerpiece.
The Aesthetic
The Bordone wedding venue leans modern, but it’s incredibly adaptable. We’ve seen it go minimal and monochromatic, full color and playful, or soft and romantic with oodles of greenery spanning the ceiling and florals Galore!
Because the architecture is so clean, it can hold bold design choices, but it also works just as well when you keep things simple and let the view of Manhattan steal the show.
What We Love
It’s easy to work in, easy for guests to navigate, and consistently delivers on atmosphere. This is a raw space, so you can pick your caterer and rental to truly personalize the evening. The terrace adds that extra “New York moment” without needing to leave the venue, and is a great space for additional games, lounge furniture, and activations.
Plus the space changes throughout the evening. Once the skyline lights up, the entire room shifts. It’s one of those moments that will awe your guests (especially the out of towners).
